Blue Brocade Vest

Posted on Updated on

Hello all!  It has been a while 🙂

Wedding Prep Week has come and gone productively, and I have spent the last week getting settled into our new place. In a few weeks friends of ours are getting married (yay) and my fiance has asked me to make him a crazy fun vest to wear to their wedding. As their wedding is awesomely off-beat I get to make something fun as well as re-wear a bridesmaids dress of mine.

Project at Hand: Vest

Initial Thoughts: Its a tie, how hard can it be? Quickly followed by, ‘now I’ve jinxed myself! (cutting out the pattern – DANG that is a big pattern!)

Pattern Used: McCall’s 2447

Fabric: Blue and silver brocade inverse with navy blue lining

I have made one of the Vogue vests already, so I foresee smooth sailing on this vest as well.

This is pretty much the best idea I’ve ever seen. Everyone without one will be jealous 🙂

Lesson learned from this project: When using a heavy brocade fabric, use a light interfacing, if one is used at all.
